Session Focus Areas

We welcome proposals on topics including, but not limited to:
Innovative Instructional Strategies – Adaptive teaching, student engagement, and evidence-based practices
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) – Building and sustaining high-impact collaboration
Leadership for School Improvement – Creating cultures of continuous learning and excellence
Student Success – Addressing achievement gaps and ensuring access for all students
Data-Driven Decision Making – Leveraging assessments and analytics for improvement
Effective Coaching & Mentoring – Supporting teachers through instructional leadership

Education Consultants & Researchers

Proposal Requirements

📌 Session Title – Clear and engaging title that reflects the topic.
📌 Session Description (150-200 words) – Outline the session objectives and expected takeaways.
📌 Audience Level – Indicate whether the session is best suited for teachers, instructional coaches, PLC facilitators, or leadership.
📌 Presentation Format – Interactive workshop, lecture, panel discussion, or hands-on session.
📌 Presenter Bio (100 words max) – Include relevant experience and credentials.

How to Apply

Review Process

Proposals are reviewed by the RISE staff and conference committee. Reviewers use the proposal scoring rubric seen below as the basis for scoring proposals and evaluating them. Every effort is made to have each proposal scored by a minimum of three reviewers. 

Each proposal will be evaluated on a 25-point scale based on the following criteria:

Clarity & OrganizationProposal is well-structured, with clear objectives and a logical session flow.Mostly clear and organized; minor adjustments needed.Somewhat clear, but session structure or objectives need refinement.Lacks clarity; unclear focus or session flow.
Engagement & InteractivityHighly interactive and engaging; includes hands-on or collaborative elements.Mostly interactive with some audience participation.Limited interactivity; mostly lecture-style presentation.No engagement strategies; passive session delivery.
Actionable TakeawaysProvides concrete strategies and tools participants can immediately apply.Offers useful strategies but lacks depth in implementation guidance.Some relevant content but limited practical application.Lacks actionable takeaways for participants.
Expertise & Credibility of Presenter(s)Presenter(s) demonstrate deep expertise and experience in the topic area.Presenter(s) are knowledgeable but may lack extensive experience.Presenter(s) show some experience but need more expertise.Limited expertise; credibility not well established.

Scoring Guidelines:

🔹 22-25 Points – Highly recommended for selection
🔹 18-21 Points – Meets expectations; recommended with minor adjustments
🔹 14-17 Points – Needs revision before approval
🔹 Below 14 Points – Not recommended for selection
